Many short sentences can ruin a vacation. Many start with, "Oh no, I forgot to bring…." It really sucks when this happens, and it can mess up organized plans. Imagine forgetting your sunscreen on a trip to Mexico; it burns.
A resort is supposed to be a place that provides everything you need, everything outside of the basics, that is. If you are like us and prefer to stay in one place, remember to bring everything you need on vacation.
How ironic is it that we always forget the most important things? Don't fret, though; we are here to help you out. Below is a list of the items you need to pack for a resort vacation. Save this list for when you decide to go on that trip!

How ironic is it that we always forget the most important things? Don't fret, though; we are here to help you out. Below is a list of the items you need to pack for a resort vacation. Save this list for when you decide to go on that trip!
1. The Bags
You're probably thinking, "Of course, I plan on bringing a bag!" Wait, how many bags would you take on a one-week vacation? Also, what types of bags would they be? What goes in each of those bags? Are you confused now? Good, now hear us out.
You should, of course, have a big suitcase for the more significant items like clothes and shoes. However, you should also have at least one smaller piece of luggage. You could have a medium-sized beach bag for small items you'll need on the beach, like sunscreen, a book if you like to read, and sunglasses. You can also have a tote bag or carry-on for handy things like your phone, purse, cards, etc.
2. In the Bags: Clothes
Clothes cannot take a backseat on this list. They are as crucial to vacation as air is to living. You'll need different types of clothes when going on a holiday, and some people like to take an extra outfit to change into on a plane. If you fall into this category, remember to do your due diligence.
Most vacations involve a visit to the beach, so remember your swimsuits. While having bikinis is essential, remember that you can't sleep in them. So, don't forget your casual clothes: shorts, jeans, and sweats. You can't trade those in for anything. You may also have a fancy occasion like a party or dinner planned, so don't forget your dinner dress or suit. The clothes should all go in your big traveling bag.
3. Body Essentials
No, the resort will not provide your choice of lotion or shampoo. So, bring your stuff! If you have a skincare routine, you know you have a lot more to carry along. Remember to take your lotion, serum, creams, and everything you may need for your skin. Also, remember your bubble baths, bath salts, or shower gels if you are particular about your shower products and don't want to use the hotel's. Don't forget your toothbrush!
In addition to these basic things, you may need other specific toiletry essentials depending on your location or activities. If you're going somewhere warm and beachy, sunscreen is essential. Put it in your beach bag or carry-on as soon as you start packing. If you react to certain environments or need some cream to protect yourself from some elements in the said environment, this is your cue. Also, keep it handy!
4. Hats and Shoes
Maybe you don't need shoes for the beach, but will you also walk barefoot to the restaurant and the art gallery? We hope your answer to that question was no. You will need different types of footwear on vacation depending on how long it is, where it is, and what you will be doing there. Are you going hiking on this vacation? Get good walking shoes.
You may also want some cool, comfortable sandals for the beach. Of course, you can also decide to soak your feet in the sand. Heels and fancy shoes are for dinner and parties, so don't forget them! Also, some comfortable slides will do you good when you are just lounging. Hats can be necessary depending on the climate of the vacation spot. They are good for protecting your face from the sun.
5. Other Miscellaneous Items
If we were to list every single item you need on a resort vacation, we wouldn't be done until everyone went on a round trip one after the other. There are other things you will find important on your vacation, especially cards you will need for payment or identification. If you are really into jewelry, you may also want a small jewelry box or purse to keep things organized.
You may also want to bring a rash guard, small towels, a book, sunglasses, towel clips, a tumbler or flask, electrolytes, etc. Little things will come to you along the way and may also depend on your preferences, like chapstick and scrunchies. Also, don't forget the kids and their stuff!
